This is a leather jerkin/ jacket made out of 3-5 ounce mule deer leather.
Mule deer is slightly heavier weight than regular deerskin, but still extremely soft and supple.
Each jerkin is closed via braided ties in front, and the size is adjustable via lace closure on the sides.
Each jerkin has a back seam along the waist line and an angled seam in front. All of the edges are hemmed, and the side lace closures are reinforced with a second layer of leather and metal eyelets.
We have two sizes available, the S/M size adjusts to fit size 36-42 chest. The L/XL will fit 42-48
The Jerkin's are made 37" in the front and back. If you would like yours longer or shorter, let me know and we will adjust the size.
There are 6 standard colors, but many other options, feel free to message me if you have something particular in mind.
Mule deer are a range animal, therefore their hides tend to have a number of imperfections, scratches, scars, bullet holes etc. We will do our best to pick unmarred pieces when making each jerkin, but there will be at least a few imperfections. Keep this in mind when ordering.

Why so expensive?
Our items are all made by hand. We do not mass produce anything, and every item has been designed, tested, and created by us. A lot of time and effort has gone into every item we offer, and we do our best to make sure that everything that leaves our shop lives up to our standards and hopefully yours.
Can you make a sheath for a knife other than the ones offered here?
We only offer a few different sheath options, but we operate out of a large brick & mortar cutlery store, so there's a chance we have the knife you're looking for. Contact us to set up a custom order.
Do your holsters meet IDPA regulations?
All of our belt holsters meet IDPA regulations, but our shoulder holsters do not.
Are your leather sheaths lined with Kydex?
To put in bluntly, if your leather sheath does what it's supposed to do, you shouldn't need to put a different sheath inside of it. Our leather sheaths function very well being made out of leather, and our kydex sheaths work very well without a leather lining.
Does the knife come with the sheath?
No. Each item is for the sheath/scabbard/holster itself, no knives, swords, or guns are included with any purchase.

We occasionally update/improve the design of some items, so it is possible that the photos on some listings might not be entirely up to date.

I don’t have enough nice things to say about grommets and the quality of their products. This jerkin is no exception. The green came in a bit lighter than the color in the picture, but even after one weekend, it started to darken and age nicely into that darker forest green. I get lots of compliments when I wear it as it really stands out. I can’t wait to order another one from them!
