This is a leather renaissance doublet/ vest made out of 3-5 ounce mule deer leather.
Mule deer is slightly heavier weight than regular deerskin, but still extremely soft and supple. It is available in our standard sm/md or l/xl sizes, which are adjustable via laces on the sides.
Similar to our long deerskin jerkin, this version extends to a point just below the waistline in front, with 3" wide peplum accents around the waist, with epaulette shoulders and a 1" tall stand collar. The side lace closures are reinforced with metal eyelets.
We have two sizes available, the S/M size adjusts to fit size 36-42 chest. The L/XL will fit 42-48
There are 6 standard colors, but many other options, feel free to message me if you have something particular in mind.
Mule deer are a range animal, therefore their hides tend to have a number of imperfections, scratches, scars, bullet holes etc. We will do our best to pick unmarred pieces when making each jerkin, but there will be at least a few imperfections. Keep this in mind when ordering.
As always, customization is available. Feel free to message me with any questions.

We now have a section of in stock items! Everything in this section is available, and will ship within 1-2 business days.
Our items are all made by hand. We do not mass produce anything, and every item has been designed, tested, and created by us. A lot of time and effort has gone into every item we offer, and we do our best to make sure that everything that leaves our shop lives up to our standards and hopefully yours.
We only offer a few different sheath options, but we operate out of a large brick & mortar cutlery store, so there's a chance we have the knife you're looking for. Contact us to set up a custom order.
All of our belt holsters meet IDPA regulations, but our shoulder holsters do not.
To put in bluntly, if your leather sheath does what it's supposed to do, you shouldn't need to put a different sheath inside of it. Our leather sheaths function very well being made out of leather, and our kydex sheaths work very well without a leather lining.
No. Each item is for the sheath/scabbard/holster itself, no knives, swords, or guns are included with any purchase.
We occasionally update/improve the design of some items, so it is possible that the photos on some listings might not be entirely up to date.

Sorry to say this one was way way to big for me, I'm skinny but tall (or rather 50 years ago people would say tall but normal build), and I tried to say this when I ordered it, but I don't think they took it into acount even though they say they hand_craft it. I can have 2 pillows on my stomach and then the harnesk fits. I'm sad because I think the quality is good. Sweden took tax 2 times, after etsy took it once. So the total cost was $470 instead of 300 that the item cost. Waited 2.5 months and wanted to do a photoshoot for a book but now this is way to big for me :(. I wonder what I will do with this now. Can't sell it to anyone, too expensive for them. Maybe recraft it somehow.

Received my doublet in the mail today - and my excitement for it's arrival was only exceeded by my astonishment at the quality of what I received. It came packaged in a Grommet's marked bag, and immediately when I pulled out the tunic I could feel the quality craftmanship and love that was put into the garment. The leather was surprisingly lightweight, very soft and the stitching felt expertly done. Looking forward to having it on my outfit this year and many more to come. Thanks Grommets!
