This is a handmade leather back of the head protector that can be attached to the back of your fencing mask to protect you from harm.
Each cover is made out of 8-10 ounce vegetable tanned cowhide, and is available in either our stitched or riveted construction.
They are identical to the other styles we offer, but feature an extended flap on the bottom that allows for more coverage for the sides and base of the neck. The flap swivels up or down to allow for ease of movement.
To add rigidity, you have the option of having yours impregnated with wax, which makes the leather extremely hard and adds to the protective nature considerably.
Hardening the leather will darken the color considerably, so keep this in mind when ordering lighter color options.
The protector is connected to the mask via three straps, one that slides over the tongue in the back, and two more that you thread the elastic strap through.
This item was designed to fit most fencing masks, please contact me if you need special adjustments for yours.
These protectors are legal for most fencing schools, but be sure to check with the official rules and let me know if you need adjustments in order to qualify.

Why so expensive?
Our items are all made by hand. We do not mass produce anything, and every item has been designed, tested, and created by us. A lot of time and effort has gone into every item we offer, and we do our best to make sure that everything that leaves our shop lives up to our standards and hopefully yours.
Can you make a sheath for a knife other than the ones offered here?
We only offer a few different sheath options, but we operate out of a large brick & mortar cutlery store, so there's a chance we have the knife you're looking for. Contact us to set up a custom order.
Do your holsters meet IDPA regulations?
All of our belt holsters meet IDPA regulations, but our shoulder holsters do not.
Are your leather sheaths lined with Kydex?
To put in bluntly, if your leather sheath does what it's supposed to do, you shouldn't need to put a different sheath inside of it. Our leather sheaths function very well being made out of leather, and our kydex sheaths work very well without a leather lining.
Does the knife come with the sheath?
No. Each item is for the sheath/scabbard/holster itself, no knives, swords, or guns are included with any purchase.

Cosmetically quite rough, the fit and finish could be better, seems functionally solid however.

Easy to install and very solid (hardened version). I use this instead of a big overlay. I fence in hot weather, and allowing the fencing mask's mesh venting to do it's job helps a lot.
