This listing is for a pair of leather Shoulder (Spaulder) armor. These are very similar to style 3, with a more angular top section. They do not offer as much coverage as the style 1 shoulder armor, but have more points of articulation, so allow a greater range of movement.
This style was designed to pair with my "Gondorian" style vambraces, and elbows. They are constructed much like the elbow armor that I offer, and feature two articulated sections that extend down the arm to protect the bicep.
They are made from 8 oz Latigo leather and feature a long buckled strap that runs across the chest, as well as two straps that secure it to your arm. The chest straps are attached via Chicago screws, which makes them easily removable to use alternate attachment options. There are two holes on the top edge of the pauldrons which allow them to be laced onto a gambeson or maille shirt via point ties; or attached to the gorget that I offer via chicago screw.
They have the option of having a leather overlay for added protection, and well as being impregnated with wax to add rigidity to function as armor in reenactment fighting, HEMA, LARP, or whatever your hobby happens to be. As with any armor, if you do plan on using these for protection, you should wear a gambeson, or add some padding of your own ( I recommend cotton batting/pillow filler).
Be advised that if you choose to wax a lighter color it will cause the leather to darken, so any color but black will end up being a very dark version of itself.

Why so expensive?
Our items are all made by hand. We do not mass produce anything, and every item has been designed, tested, and created by us. Can you make a sheath for a knife other than the ones offered here?
We only offer a few different sheath options, but we operate out of a large brick & mortar cutlery store, so there's a chance we have the knife you're looking for. Contact us to set up a custom order.
Do your holsters meet IDPA regulations?
All of our belt holsters meet IDPA regulations, but our shoulder holsters do not.
Are your leather sheaths lined with Kydex?
To put in bluntly, if your leather sheath does what it's supposed to do, you shouldn't need to put a different sheath inside of it. Our leather sheaths function very well being made out of leather, and our kydex sheaths work very well without a leather lining.
Does the knife come with the sheath?
No. Each item is for the sheath/scabbard/holster itself, no knives, swords, or guns are included with any purchase.

The quality was even better than I expected, and my expectations were already high. The material is strong, and the fit is apparently universal, it fit like a glove. Required a bit of flexing to form to my shoulders/biceps shape, but totally worth it. Feels like I can take on the world.

Just perfect! I had asked that the fastening around the arm to be a bit longer for wearing over an arming jacker and it is just right! Second item I have purchased from this shop. These will go with the gorget I purchased previously.
